Our Story

Hi, I’m Takota Clarke — an entrepreneur-in-the-making, raised in a world where business was more than just numbers and meetings; it was about vision, passion, and people.

My journey began in this five-story building that my family has poured our hearts into. Over the years, our first floor  space has had  a number of event venue groups come and go — each one with its own charm, its own dreamers, and its own beautiful stories. Watching those venue groups be creative, seeing the sparkle in a bride’s eye on her wedding day, and witnessing teams coming together to make each event unforgettable… that’s where I truly fell in love with what it means to build something meaningful.

But my biggest inspiration? My mom Jori Clarke. She’s not only been my mentor and biggest cheerleader — she’s been my example of what’s possible when insight meets drive. She’s owned several successful businesses, including a tech company, and today she leads the vision behind our multi-functional building. She's truly walked an amazing path — and she’s brought me with her every step of the way.

Under her guidance, I’ve learned that building a business isn’t just about success — it’s about strategy, service, and soul. I’ve seen firsthand how going the extra mile isn’t just good business; it’s what makes the difference between average and exceptional.  So welcome to my company, Tenzing Events. Tenzing is derived from the Tibetan word “ten” meaning “to hold” or “to uphold” and “zing” meaning “excellent” or “auspicious” therefore the name Tenzing can be interpreted to mean “upholder of excellence”.  It is also famously associated with Tenzing Norgay, the Sherpa mountaineer who, along with Sir Edmund Hillary, became the first individuals to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

This is just the beginning for me, but I’m proud of where I started — in the middle of all the action, learning from the best.  So join me on the journey where my compass is set to make sure all our clients will find we strive in everything we do for you, to be “upholders of excellence”.
